This page explains the small number of cookies mustpad.org uses, what each one does, and how to change your mind at any time.

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads — for example, that you have already chosen your cookie preferences, or that you are part-way through filling in a form.
MusTPAD uses cookies sparingly. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, social media tracking pixels or anything that would build a profile of you across websites.
These cookies are required for the site to work. Because they are essential, the law lets us set them without your consent.

Two third-party services on mustpad.org set cookies — and only if you have clicked “Accept all” on the consent banner. If you choose “Reject non-essential”, these services do not run and no cookies are set by them.
When you make a donation, Stripe sets cookies to detect fraudulent activity, remember your session and process the card payment securely. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified and operates as a data processor for MusTPAD.

When you submit the contact form, hCaptcha verifies you are not a bot and sets cookies to remember that check for the duration of your visit. hCaptcha is a privacy-focused alternative to reCAPTCHA and does not send data to Google.

We use Plausible Analytics to understand which pages are most useful to our visitors and where people drop off. Plausible is privacy-first by design:
Because of this, the UK Information Commissioner's Office accepts Plausible-style analytics without requiring opt-in consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). We therefore load Plausible on every page, regardless of your cookie choice.
