This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This exceeds the minimum requirement of the European Accessibility Act 2025 (EN 301 549, which references WCAG 2.1 AA) and meets the duty under the UK Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled users.
Accessibility statement
MusTPAD is committed to making mustpad.org accessible to everyone. As a charity whose mission is music accessibility for disabled people, we consider exemplary digital accessibility a direct expression of our values — not an add-on.
Standard
What we have done
- Skip-to-content link on every page (WCAG 2.4.1).
- 3px amber focus indicators on every interactive element (WCAG 2.4.11).
- Minimum 24×24px target size on all controls (WCAG 2.5.8).
- Colour contrast: body text 17.4:1 (AAA), primary brand text on cream 8.1:1 (AAA), all CTA text 4.5:1 or better (AA).
- Full keyboard operability. The mega menu and mobile drawer close on Escape; no keyboard traps.
- Every form input has a programmatically associated label. Hint text is linked via
aria-describedby. Required fields are marked in both colour and label text. - Semantic HTML5 landmarks (
main,nav,footer,article) and ARIA labels on every navigation region. - User-controlled accessibility utility bar at the top of every page: text size (default / large / largest), colour scheme (default / dark / high contrast). Preferences persist across visits.
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion: all animation is suppressed when the user has requested reduced motion at the OS level. - No auto-playing media, no time-limited content, no flashing or strobing content.
Areas we are working on
We aim to publish image alt-text and video captions for all content. Where alt text is currently missing we are working to add it. Some PDF documents published before 2026 may not be fully accessible — please contact us if you need an alternative format and we will provide one promptly.

This statement was last reviewed on 7 July 2026. The site is tested against WCAG 2.2 AA with automated tools (axe DevTools, WAVE) and a manual screen-reader pass (NVDA) before each major release.
